The main idea behind our project “Drink Green” is to provide our university and other public buildings with assistance in becoming more eco-friendly. The SIFE team will cooperate with clubs and bars in Rotterdam to organize events. Up until this moment, the money we raised was reinvested in the location where we the parties were organized. By doing so, we could lower the bathroom-paper consumption of Café Beurs in Rotterdam by 2000 Euro each year and the toilets at Vuig Club Rotterdam are working without any water usage and save the club 1,200 Euros and dramatically lowers the waste of water. However, our team is changing the focus from party locations to our university. On one hand, we strongly believe we will have a bigger impact and on the other hand, since we are a student organisation, we believe our first priority should be our university. Therefore, a large percentage of our earnings will be invested in Campus Woudestein to make it greener. This may include the offset of carbon emissions, exchanging light bulbs and electric equipment or the purchase of eco-friendly facilities. Guidance will be provided in how this can be achieved.

The initiative is based on the notion that something very little (for instance using low energy light bulbs) could make a difference in the world and save monthly costs.

The general goals of such a project are to work towards a better, cleaner and greener world by providing the local student body with the opportunity to make their partying have a lasting impact.
